1..Stuck in the snow?: Use kitty litter or your car's floor mats to
get traction and get yourself out of a ditch or slippery situation.
2.. Hate fuzzy sweaters?: If your favorite sweater is "pilly" from
being washed too much this winter, use a cheap razor (the kind with JUST
blades, no soap) and go over the rough areas with it. It'll be smooth
again.
3...Are you slipping everywhere?: Screw some screws into the bottom of
some old tennis shoes. You'll gain traction, just don't wear them inside
(and be careful not to leave screws exposed in the sole).
4...Is your windshield washer fluid freezing?: Instead of buying more
expensive fluid, mix together 2 quarts rubbing alcohol, 1 cup water, and
1 teaspoon dish detergent. You can also spray a mixture of 3:1 vinegar
to water on your car windows to keep water from icing.
5... Cold, but don't have insulated long johns?: Wear running tights or pantyhose under your pants.
6...Do your wipers stick to your windows? Keep them up in the air when you're parked and cover them with old socks.
7...Is your house too cold?: If you have a ceiling fan, keep it on LOW
and make sure it's going in reverse (clockwise). It'll push the warm air
that rises to the ceiling back down to you.
8...Hate hat hair?: Use dry shampoo after taking off your hair and fluff your hair, it'll be good as new.
9... Is your heater not getting the house warm enough?: If it's a
wall-mounted heater or radiator, put a layer of tinfoil against the wall
(be careful not to use anything else that would be a fire hazard). The
foil will reflect the heat back into the room and won't let the wall
absorb it.
